Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive 2002/95/EC states that the following substances are prohibited to be used in products placed into the market effective July 1, 2006:
- Lead
- Mecury
- Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB)
- Hexavalent Chromium
- Cadmium
- Polybrominated Diphenylethers (PBDE)
The six prohibited substances do not have amounts exceeding the allowable maximum concentrations defined in the Directive. And to promote product compliance with the new laws, QAE has established an in depth program.
QAE provides backplanes, chassis, and integrated system solutions to a diverse market place. QAE has received requirements from many customers to provide products conforming to these environmental regulations. We will also continut to provide non-RoHS products in our manufacturing and other exempt applications as requested by our customers. Customers desiring transition to RoHS compliancy should speak with a QAE representative.
